AIGBURTH: Known as the student quarter as well as being called Lark
Lane, its quite trendy and almost bohemian in character with cool
bars and restaurants. Keith’s Wine Bar serves a great Sunday
breakfast and go for a stroll afterwards around Sefton Park. Or
maybe go in the opposite direction to Otterspool Promenade where
one can go ship spotting.
Aintree is the home of great horse racing and especially the Grand
National horse race, which is without doubt the biggest celebrated
horse race in the entire racing calendar. Every man, woman, child,
and granny puts a few pound on this race as it brings out the gambling
buzz across the world.
The new attraction to this area is the Grand National Experience,
which is an interactive display all year round, with an historical
tour and with also a simulator ride. Aintree does not only have
horse racing as its trump card, it also plays host to a motor racing
circuit, archery, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking as well as a
nice golf course. Along with all this recreational magic, Aintree
has lots of retail department stores just a short distance from
its race course.
